FINALS

The contest proper will be on February 23, 2009 at exactly
1:00PM until 4:00PM.
o
It will be a group competition.
o
There will be three (3) rounds: Easy, Average, and
Difficult.
o
Each question will be worth 1 point for the Easy round; 2
points for the Average round; 3 points for the Difficult round.
o
To answer each question, the participants will be given 10
seconds for the Easy round; 20 seconds for the Average round; 30 seconds for
the Difficult round.
o
The questions will be read twice by the quizmaster.
o
If a participant has any inquiries, he/she must raise
his/her hand and address the question to the quizmaster.
o
The scores will be added. The three with the highest
scores will be declared the champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up,
respectively.
o
In case of a tie, five (5) questions will be asked to
determine their places. Fifteen (15) seconds will be allotted to answer each
question.
o
The top 3 will receive:
First prize: P5,000 cash + plaque
of recognition
Second prize: P3,000 cash + plaque
of recognition
Third prize: P2,000 cash + plaque
of recognition
o
The announcement of winners and awarding of prizes will be
held during the Closing Ceremony of the LibSPEAK '09 (Conference and Contest)
on February 23, 2009, Monday, at UP Balay Kalinaw.

2009, the participants for the elimination round of the Junior LIS
Wizard started to arrive @ 7:30AM with their coach/mentors.
Registration started at 8AM. An hour later, they were settled in to
SLIS Rooms 3 and 4.
